    Heart of david

    HAVING THE HEART OF DAVID

    What is the lord looking for in a person? He is looking for a woman or man with a heart of David, glory to God. He raised David up who had a heart after him because he knew Israel was not going to allow God himself to be king over them so he gave them what they asked for initially, which at first was Saul.(Saul is the order of man) There are many Sauls in the church today many who trust in their “stuff” there can be no compromise with God, either we trust him and be obedient to him or he is not pleased I know for me I will go to my grave believing that, Let God be true and every man a liar, Romans 3:4,We  have to be responsible to hear the word of the Lord and discern truth!! I will and always have been one who searches out the scripture and I am not afraid to address truth!!, Because of that I know I have been misjudged, but that’s ok, Gods way and Gods truth is THE ONLY WAY NOT WHAT MAN CAN CONJURE UP, we must be like David who always inquired of the Lord, Saul was an apostate king he died because of his trespass, and in the last days there will be many that will apostate from truth!!2 Thess.2:1-12;, (Please read scripture) 1 Chron.10:13-14So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;

    1Ch 10:14   and enquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse. You will also notice that Philistines( self wallow, self indulgence)followed hard after Saul and consumed his family 1Ch 10:2  And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.

     If we look at the study of Saul and David, in 1 Samuel 8, we see the sons of Samuel, Joel and Abiah were judges in Beer-sheba. His sons walked not in the ways of Samuel but turned aside after filthy lucre(1215- dishonest gain, covetousness profit)(1 Corinthians 6:9) and took bribes and perverted judgement.vs3.So with this scenario, the elders of Israel gathered  with Samuel and said make us a king to judge us like all the other nations,(oh how we all want to be like someone else, we all want the same blessing the same order of things, we want to clone other churches  but maybe God wants something different ,maybe God is looking for a people that will not trust in their natural surroundings ,but will be a peculiar people , a people that will hold Gods truth in their hearts and say “God has said”) this thing grieved Samuel and because they did not want to make God their king , but would of rather trusted in the ways of man. The Lords response to them1Sa 8:7  And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

    1Sa 8:8  According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

    1Sa 8:9 now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

      Even in the desert the tribe of Israel grumbled about manna, they were not satisfied with the “fresh bread” the very presence of God, the sweet wind of the Holy Spirit that can change every circumstance and cause the very hardest of hearts to melt in the presence of anger and hostility and hurt, no they wanted a king, a MAN to lead them, they wanted FLESH!!!! They did not want the freshness, the “new mercies, that are new everyday, the rehema word, the now word. So God gave them over to their lust, to their idols till they were puking it out of there nostrils! There is always a “mixed” multitude in the church they are the ones who are satisfied with mans ways, mans incentives and mans rule, they are the tares that are sowed by the enemy they are the foreigners, that really are not knowing the heart of God and walking in the faithfulness of God, they are there just trying to blend in till they open their mouths and grumble and complain, they are the ones that may be uncomfortable with the moving of the Spirit, they are the ones who would rather keep things stale and not see a fresh move of God. Faith is NOW, and only FAITH will please him. If God has said, let every man be a liar and God be true!! He will lead us to the promise land!! Man cannot and will not have prominence over God!! Glory to God!!!!

    Num 11:4 and the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, who shall give us flesh to eat?

    Num 11:5 we remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic:

    Num 11:6 but now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

    Num 11:7 and the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium.

    Num 11:8  And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.

    Num 11:9 and when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.

    Num 11:10 Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.

    Num 11:13 whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? For they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh that we may eat.

    Num 11:14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.

    Num 11:15 and if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

    Num 11:16  And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.

    Num 11:17  And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

    Num 11:18 And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.

    Num 11:19  Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;

    Num 11:20  But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?

    Num 11:21  And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.

     Sometimes we think we were better off in the world, sometimes we remember where we came from when things were not conflicting and things were smooth, less troubles, If you want FLESH the Lord will give you exactly what you want if you want comfort he will give you comfort but remember there is no change where there is comfort, and change is what Jesus is all about, glory to God, he is changing us from glory to glory!! And let me tell you it does not come when things are always sweet and pleasant!! Always remember wide is the gate to destruction but narrow is the gate to life, it is a tight squeeze to walk the narrow walk it is a walk of  NO COMPROMISE!! It will cost you!! Even the loss of friends and the pleasures of this life, Gods ways are not man ways!!

    Lets  read in 1Samuel 9, where Samuel goes and anoints Saul privately , verse 2 of 9 describes him to be a choice young man ,a goodlier person and his stature was that of being tall , taller than all his people. The cry of the Lords people (they were always crying, and whining, the Lord showed me in my own life that crying is ok but if you

    do it all the time because of lack of believing or disliking your circumstances, you will never learn to speak to your mountain, nor is it trusting  in the God who works out all our problems. A real warrior for the Lord will confront the enemy and speak defeat to him, until he has won the battle and has the spoils in his hands!!

     If we do rise up in faith but continue to whine, all the days of your life we will never grow in the knowledge of knowing He is God over every circumstance, and over every enemy that comes against you, we are being equipped to stand in battle and in the fact that he is the God of the breakthrough, Baal-Perazim!!!!!!) went before God and he told Samuel that he would anoint him as captain over the people and that he would deliver them. God will hand us over to the things and strength of the flesh if that is truly what we want, until we discover that Gods way is best. It is no different today, we think we need someone to rule over us other that God, but the Lord says in. Ex 20:2-4 thou shalt have no other gods before him, well anything we put above God, trusting in even man, then we have erected a god before Him before his authority. When we know the battle is on whom do we turn to? Who do you believe to be the ultimate victor in your life? Who do you run to? Your husband?  your pastor? your friend? Your bad habits that fill the void? WHO?? If the word of the Lord has spoken victory than victory it is, we must not turn to man or “stuff’ Saul only knows to trust in “stuff: 3627- from 3615 something prepared any apparatus (as an implement, utensil, dress, vessel or weapon, armour, artillery, 3615- a prim root to end to cease, be finished, to complete, prepare, consume)Psalm 20: 7- Some trust in chariots some in horses but we will remember the Name of our Lord God. Using any natural means, man-made means to bring an end to something. 1sam 10:17-22, And Samuel called the people together unto the LORD to Mizpeh;

    1Sa 10:18  And said unto the children of Israel, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, and of them that oppressed you:

    1Sa 10:19  And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Is it any different today? Has the Lord thy God delivered you from many things? Have we not seen the victory in the Lord throughout our lives? But yet we still look to “stuff” we still want to cling to the things of this life , the things that we think will deliver us , give us answers, instead of the Lord thy God, one thing I know to be truth, is GOD IS FAITHFUL, if he delivered you from one thing glory to God he will deliver you from many other things that try to come against you, his love for us is indescribable, just as he loved the people of Israel , and it pleased him to make them his people 1 Samuel 12:22For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people. We are His people today, He will avenge our adversaries!! But we have to trust and be obedient to him and his word .

    1Sa 10:20 and when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was taken.

    1Sa 10:21 when he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found.

    1Sa 10:22 Therefore they enquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet come thither. And the LORD answered, Behold, he hath hid himself among the stuff. Again here is the meaning; 3627- from 3615 something prepared any apparatus (as an implement, utensil, dress, vessel or weapon, armour, artillery, 3615- a prim root to end to cease , be finished, to complete, prepare, consume)Using any natural means , man-made means to bring an end to something, This is the verdict with Saul [order of man], this is what he did. the Saul nature will always be hiding in amongst the planning and scheming of how to overcome with natural methods, or how to build a ministry, but the heart of David will always be inquiring of the Lord, and following after the heart of God no matter how big the enemy looks, or no matter what we seem to think is God but really it is man-made, the appearance of truth but really may be false. The heart of David will always trust in the word of the Lord and be willing to be obedient to go against the grain, and listen to the voice of God, no matter what others say about you. We cannot be man pleasers, but our heart should only please Him!! If He is not first in your life, then you better do some soul searching. When they looked for David to anoint him, where was he? 1 sam.16:11 he was tending the sheep, I can just see David, out there minding his own business doing what shepherd boys do, looking after the sheep, worshipping the Lord, singing love songs to His God and just doing what he was told to do, never realizing that God was setting up to bless him and advance him, little did he know he was going to rule the nation of Israel!! If we keep our focus on HIM (GOD) who knows how God could be setting up YOU to bless you and put you in to a place of authority. Many men and woman are looking at their own stuff to advance themselves, many have and are getting ready for positions that they have never been called to, only to fall into the trap of self preservation, self authority, and self indulgence.

     David was not a man to trust is stuff, looking at the description of Goliath, he was appro. 13ft and 4 inches and the entire coat he wore five thousand shekels of brass which is 1941/2 lbs, he was no midget!! And I am sure David was not a great big man, it does not say, although it says he was ruddy and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. 1 Sam.16:12 David was not afraid to face the giant; no he was able and willing in his God, the same God that slew the bear and the lion 1 sam.17:34-37 would deliver him out of the hand of the giant!! David trusted and knew his God, he did not need stuff, Saul tried to arm David with all the stuff but David said “I cannot go with these for I have not proved them” and David took them off 1Sam.17:38-39. Have you proved God to be faithful? 1Th 5:21  Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

     Has he ever delivered you or healed you from anything? Then trust Him for what you’re facing right now!! Believe Him for what is in your heart right now!! Glory to the Most High God!!! Jesus!!!!!! I am believing right now for the manifestation of my healing I know the God that saved and set me free from the bondages of sin and corruption is THE SAME GOD TODAY AND FOREVER!! FOREVER!!! HE NEVER CHANGES!!!

     So now let us look at the order of God, what is it that God wants? God wants men and women who will keep the word of the Lord and appropriate his word , he does not want men and women who will compromise like Saul ,who for his disobedience  did die , he trusted a medium. And not the word of the Lord!!

     We read in 1 Sam. 16 where God tells Samuel to go to Jesse and I will show you the King I selected to be king over Israel,  Saul was the choice that they wanted, David was the choice God wanted .We need to position ourselves to desire and want what the Lord wants , there has to come a time in our lives when it is not what we want but what does the KING OF KINGS want, I think man has had his fun far to long in the church , playing church going to church and doing church, LETS BE THE CHURCH, the Bride with garments of white and fragrance of the sweet odour  of our Groom!! Amen?

    1Sa 12:12  And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your king.

    1Sa 12:13  Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you.

     If it’s flesh you want then flesh it will be but if you truly want the will of the Lord then you wait and let Him be Lord of the things in your life, I sense the church today does not know how to put the Lord first, we scramble about seeking out our own agendas only to brand it with “thus says the Lord”. Many ministers have fallen over the years, we hear of in the news papers and all through the media, what has that done to the reputation of who we are to represent? Where is the standard of holiness? More than anything where is the fear of God in the church?? When I think about the crap(and that is exactly what it is) that has gone on in the church , and how God must really feel, it grieves me, all my heart can say is Father forgive us , forgives us your people who you have called by YOUR NAME!! Do you know what that means church when you are called by HIS NAME? A name represents CHARACTER! Did you hear that CHARACTER!! We as Christians walk around in this world setting an example of the character of the God we serve, there comes a time in our lives where we grow up , I have a hard time with people who continue in there sin and play dumb to it, especially in positions of leadership, especially when the world is WATCHING!! You may say Michele you should not talk like that, you’re judging, No I am just calling a spade a spade, and it is high time we got on our faces and cried out to the TRUE KING and repent of the state his church is in. Stuff will not help us!! We have become desensitised to the things that go wrong in the church, we fluff it off and we do not deal with it, I have always wondered about that scripture in 1 Tim 5: 20 Them that sin rebuke before all , that  others may fear. We see in churches today so much compromise it makes me ill, if the fear of God was truly in the heart of the church, we would not see the compromise in  the church, today people can go to church and hide with the things in their heart , because there is no fear of the Lord! There is coming a time when the sin will be found out, I believe there is coming a time when the Spirit of the Lord is going to blow upon his church and clean her up!! Num 32:23  But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

     If we the church would “inquire of the Lord” we would not find ourselves in the mess we are in!! What we sow we will reap, God is not mocked!!  Gal 6:3  For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

    Gal 6:4  But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

    Gal 6:5  For every man shall bear his own burden.

    Gal 6:6  Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

    Gal 6:7  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

    Gal 6:8  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

    The very thing that will spare us of any judgement….repentance, why is it man wants things his way? Pro 14:12  There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

     Does he not know the consequences? How can he think God will not know? It amazes me that man is that stupid, to think he can hide his sin from God!! I think when David sinned with Bathsheba , it was pretty obvious he did not inquire of the Lord, he went after what his flesh lusted for only to see himself get farther into sin, by killing her husband. The thing that David did was evil in the sight of the Lord 2 Samuel 11:27.David suffered for his sin, 2Sam.12:1-15, there were repercussions to what choices he made, all because of the lust of his heart!! Did that change his heart? I think it did, I think when we know our sin and repent , truly repent , there is healing and forgiveness, the only one to remind you of it is the devil and people who knew what you did. There will always be a reaping for wrong choices we make, Gods word says he gives a way of escape for temptation, 1Co 10:13  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

    God always has an answer to our problems we just need to be in tune and attentive to his word. I will end here and continue with what God is looking for in the next article. Blessings Michele
